                                         Advanced CAD

About 3D Design

3D designing is critical in the industries of STEM. It helps aid engineers and architects in their work by giving them a model to  improve the efficiency and aesthetic of their designs. It gives manufacturers a preview of the final product and can even be used to print a tangible model.

About Our Courses

Our teachers have years of experience in 3D design. After taking our course, students will be able to design and combine basic shapes into complex figures and will have the opportunity to see their designs printed with our 3D printer.

Course List:

Solidworks 3D CAD - Advanced & Efficient Techniques
  • This class will teach students how to effectively interact with Dassault Systems' Solidworks to make complex 3D objects. Students will learn to interpret engineering drawings to create a functional 3D printed flashlight. While making the flashlight, the students will gain valuable product design skills such as fastener placement and electronics packaging. Once the flashlight design is completed, the students will then make the component drawings. The rest of the class will consist of creating a 3D printed base for a robotic car, given the car component dimensions. At the end of this class, students will feel confident in their 3D CAD skills and will have gained a design engineer mindset. Prior 3D CAD experience is recommended.
